Quilting Rut

ok...now it's time to update the quilting news (long silence follows...) other than buying more fabric that I don't need, there's not been much going on. As a matter of fact, my sewing machine is not even out. I went to quilt guild last night and we had a speaker who shared ways to get out of the rut. Donna, Julie and I are going to start sewing once a week again, so that'll get me going! The highlight of '08 was the quilt I made for my parents' 50th anniversary; I'll post pics soon... too lazy to go to my desktop to download them right now.
On the kid front - David got home from Afghanistan last night (hoping to see him and Carrie this weekend!), tomorrow is Steven's 26th birthday (how can it be??), Declan is at his Gran's house, and I miss him! ... don't know what I'm going to do when he and Rebecca go back to Germany in a few weeks :( , and we're still waiting for CC to arrive.
Guess that's a wrap for today!

Happy New Year! 2009!!

Well obviously it's been a while! I'm gonna see if I can get this blog going again. Recapping the last two and a half years... one of the last posts before I quit was about Steven being home from Iraq. During that leave he met Rebecca, who is now my most favorite (and only) daughter-in-law. They got married two years ago, on 12/29/06 and became the proud parents of Declan Frederick on 8/2/08! Rebecca and Declan are presently living with us while Steven is deployed to Afghanistan. They will be heading back to Germany in a couple of weeks, as Steven will be back home (to Germany) soon. Sharyn and John are celebrating their 4th wedding anniversary today! She is now in training in the Navy! John has been staying with us since he got out of the Air Force at the end of July 08. So we went from an empty nest to having 2 in-law kids and a baby living with us!
David is also deployed again in Afghanistan but will be home soon. He and his sweet girlfriend Carrie have bought a house in NC. Elena and her boyfriend Ashton gave us our first grandbaby, Andrew, the day after Christmas last year and they are counting down the days 'til Ciarra "CC" arrives! Dennis and I continue to enjoy league bowling and I'm already looking forward to my quilting weekends with my Sew n Sew friends! Well, that's all for now!
