Tagged..

I've been catching up on blogs after a week away; went to RI to celebrate my brother and sister-in-law's 25th wedding anniversary.
Judy tagged me for six wierd things about me, so here goes:
1. My DH and I got married about 10 weeks after our first date, and we got married on my birthday.
2. I have never had a car accident going forward...only in reverse and in my driveway!
3. I'm the only one in my immediate family who was not born in Woonsocket, RI (My dad was in the A.F. when I was born and they were in Massachusetts).
4. I'm pyrophobic, yet I can build a terrific campfire.
5. It drives me crazy for cabinet doors/drawers to be left open, lights to be left on, or lights dimmed so low you can hardly see by them (love you, honey!!)
6. I had a tooth removed from the roof of my mouth.

Well, it's after midnight, so I'd better get to bed! Nighty-night!!

Busy, busy

My parents are here and we've been busy! Dad installed the flooring in my new sewing room...and that was the start of a weeklong project! He also floored the hallway, and that led to needing to paint the baseboards before he could install the quarter-round... that led to painting the ceiling (second coat today) and you may as well paint and wallpaper while you're at it, right? Mom started stripping the wallpaper in the hallway, so now, that's all getting done, too. Not what I intended when I asked if he'd install the floor, but it will be so nice to have it all done!
News on the kid front...John has been put on medical hold at DLI, after being told that he'd be assigned to Ft Meade after completing his school at Goodfellow AFB... so they are in limbo for the time being. I was supposed to fly to CA and drive back to VA with Sharyn; that will now depend on wheter they will be reimbursed for mileage, and we don't know when that will be. Steven will be home on leave June 10th; he's already got his ticket! Dennis will be driving with him back to Ft Lewis, WA. Their plan is to see if the car will run non-stop (except to gas up!) all the way there...not my idea of a fun road trip! David is here for the weekend; didn't know he was coming...a nice surprise! He is inprocessing in his new unit, and may be deployed with their next rotation in 10 days to Afghanistan...ugh! And just to keep things going, my nephew, Eric, volunteered for a tour in Iraq (what was he thinking????).
Well, it's tax day, and that's what DH is doing...good thing we get a couple extra days this year...nothing like waiting til the last minute, but it's tradition!!!
Wishing you all Easter blessings!

Mystery quilt

Here are a couple of pictures of the mystery quilt from the guild qulit-in a couple of weeks ago. Tanya is checking it out to be sure it will be comfy to sleep on every night. I'm keeping this one for our bed. I'm going to add another row each way so it will go over the edge of the bed. I had to order more fabric to finish it the way I want.
Tomorrow I'll be working on the blocks for the round robin...we meet on Friday, so I'm running out of time on this one! I'm going to make another one of the mystery quilts for my brother and sis-in-law. I also got three more Lemoyne stars done this week; I'll take a pic of them when they are all done.
