Snowy Sunday

We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. I wish I had taken some pictures; it was so beautiful! Church was canceled 'til this evening, so it's been a slow, relaxing day. I did finish sewing the hearts for the red, white, and blue mended hearts swap. I ended up with 64 of these blocks. I haven't decided what I'll do with these blocks...maybe a quilt for DS's girlfriend for her birthday.

I'm such a cut up!

I've been doing lots of fabric cutting for several projects the last several days. I cut all the strips for my Minnesota Hotdish quilt. I'm especially glad to get that one done ahead of time, so I may have a chance to actually get the top pieced while I'm there. Eight days to go!! Tonight I cut a ton of green strips for the tulip garden quilt the Sew n' sews are doing this year. That trip is to SC from the 23rd to the 27th. Tomorrow after I iron my reds, I'll be cutting and sewing some
red, white, and blue mended hearts for a swap that we're also doing in MN. And Friday the round robin group will be meeting to swap boxes (and eat Mexican food!). Monday is guild, so I have to get this month's BOM made, probably Saturday.

Such a deal!

I went to JoAnn's today for some pastel-y florals for my Minnesota project; only 14 days to go! The three fabrics on the right were just extra goodies. As I got to the register to pay, I pulled out my guild membership card and noticed a JoAnn gift card that I'd won at the guild Christmas party. The gift card was for $20.00, so for $19.79, I got almost 14 yards of fabric!
